Charles LOVETT - Elizabeth NEWBOLD marriage Jun qte 1849 ?
« on: Wednesday 22 February 17 18:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

I suspect that this marriage took place at Mountsorrel.
Please can someone confirm, and perhaps tell me if either party had married before?
I think Charles was son of James LOVETT & Sarah HEAP; but Elizabeth's ancestry is more of a mystery.

The couple seem to have had a son born June qtr 1847 registered as James Lovett NEWBOLD;
mother NEWBOLD. Was he baptized at Mountsorrel ?

James married at Sileby as James Newbold LOVETT, and census records show he was born at Mountsorrel.

These folk may not have been CofE.
At least one grandchild came to Canada.

TIA  from Toronto

Hi Willsy,

Thank you for checking. Debating with myself about purchasing the certificate.

FWIW, my current focus is on tracking down my Sileby WARD side cousins.
The revised GRO Birth & Death Indices are a great help.
However there is a common problem with ages at death where months are being shown as years.

Cheers.

There was an Elizabeth Newbold baptised in Rothley on 26th December 1824, daughter of Matthew and Margaret.

I noticed that Charles Lovett, aged 13, was baptised in Quorn on the same day as his brother, Robert, on 27th November 1836.

A Matthew Newbold married Margaret Hale in Keyham on 1st May 1815.

May not be the same family but children of same named parents baptised:-
Matthew   1816 at Syston
Thomas 1818 at Syston
Ann 1820 at Syston
Jane 1824 at Rothley
Then Elizabeth in 1824

Hi
Charles Lovett was my great great  grandfather. He was born in Quorn Leicestershire, where I still live today.  Elizabeth, had their son James Newbold Lovett in Rothley work house.
Charles and Elizabeth were not married when James was born. Sadly Elizabeth died in the same workhouse.

Hi,
I have possible NEWBOLDS in my family tree, through dna, maybe as an unknown grandfather.

I also have a high dna match with a Matthew Eld, Leicestershire but I could not find a tree with Eld's in anywhere

I did a Google search for "Matthew Eld Leicestershire" and came across this message link containing NEWBOLDS and an ELD!

I am trying to trace my paternal grandfather, not shown on my fathers birth certificate, the only way is through DNA, I started a test tree for the Newbold side and I have 2 possibilities, a lot of Newbolds where from Leicester and many went off to the US and joined the LDS, a few male lines stayed behind in the UK and I believe that 2 brothers who were born in Norfolk may be likely candidates as they were in the Leicester area during the time frame that my grandmother was there in 1919

I have yet to find any information about my match with Matthew Eld from Leicester

Does anyone have any information that may be of help?

Regards

my paternal grandmother Annie AINDOW was born in Formby Lancashire in 1900 and married a Frank CUFFLIN b1900 Leicester around 1923 but this person is not a DNA match
