Arthur George Pope was a brother for the other two, records lead to him being the son of Benjamin and Clara Pope.

Wow. That was pretty impressive - I think everyone is right about Alice May but not Ethel Margaret. Thanks very much.

I would be interested to know how everyone found this information - I firstly tried a Find My Past subscription that has now lapsed and I currently use Ancestry. I've really not had much luck with either of these great aunts on both sites.

Alice May's elder sister Clara moved to Surrey and worked as a mental nurse before she died in her 20s so I suspect the two younger sisters did the same. My dad lived in Gosport during WW2 when he thinks they may have visited. My grandmother who lived with us in Plymouth when I was a teenager often spoke of Kingsand and indeed that is where her ashes were scattered. Arthur George was a Royal Marine and my grandfather. It all ties up nicely.

Thanks once again.

Matt
