Know that my wifes grandmother elsie ridgway owned the tea rooms but do not know if clara was her mum and apparently william cuff may have been married to clara but there is a story that william and brother george drowned in 1907 whilst drunk

William Thomas Carlton Cuff married Clara Webb 1902 Mellor St Thomas.

William Thomas Carlton Cuff 36 and George Stephen Carlton Cuff 37 both deaths registered in 1907 Hazel Grove Stockport.

There are some photographs of Webb's Tea Rooms in the Stockport Image Archive collection.
Just enter Tea Rooms in the search box.

Online newspapers around the beginning of September 1907 have reports on the deaths.  One article suggests one of the brothers was addicted to drink

It also mentions that they fell off the Roman Bridge which can be seen on a couple of the photographs
