Newcastle upon Tyne Workhouse
« on: Tuesday 28 February 17 20:29 GMT (UK) »
I have a certificate of family member who gave birth at 416 Westgate Road, she was a domestic servant 53 Bell Terrace, Sub district of Elswick 1912, Selina Bell. I believe this is the Infirmary attached to the Workhouse, she also had a child in 1908, place of birth "Lying in a hospital bed" I believe it may have been the same place, both children illegitimate, having trouble finding Census/Electoral Rolls for Bell Terrace, I do have more details for her in later years but quite complicated, initially trying to find her family, she did have a brother William Bell who was living at 108 Durham Road, Newcastle with his wife Mary Ann in 1929, any help appreciated, many thanks

418 Westgate Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, was the Union Workhouse, later the General Hospital.
