jersey bmd's
« on: Thursday 02 March 17 13:53 GMT (UK) »
ive recently found a lost ancestor of mine - Louisa virginie Parkman nee le masurier and she went to Jersey after 1918, I have obtained her will that was dated 1957. as with all things it brings up new puzzles, I am unfamiliar with searching jersey records so was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction please. I would like to find her death date, and birth possible marriage and death of her son Raymond Parkman, from Google search he was born 19.02.1923, on Google I have found the blue registration form etc. is there a site that I can look on like freebmd for jersey records? or is there a particular site I need to go? please any advice I would be grateful for. thank you. jo.x

There is nothing online - as far as I know.
The place to search is the Jersey Heritage Centre; see:

Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Jersey BMD indexes are on the Jersey Archive site but are not free to access, they are in the subscription part of the site and a sub would cost you £30 for a years membership. They would only give you an approximate date.
Louisa's reg card from the Occupation says that she was born in St Helier but she married Edward in Pontypridd in 1911 (freebmd).

Only Church of England registers :-\
Ancestry have had them since January this year.

Jerripedia only have records up to 1842.

So, my 2xGreat-Grandfathers birth/baptism record still can't be found?!
(It was probably a Bible Christian baptism)

I am going to Jersey to volunteer at the Archives in August. If you like I could try look for the info there. I also pay for a subscription to the site as well but the records may still be "private".
