Bethesda Congregational
« on: Saturday 04 March 17 01:59 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I am looking to find any
Information on Bethesda
Congregational Church.
Blackpool Lancashire.
I.E Death Records
Or any records of its members.
I do know the church had its
Own Graveyard from 1844-
1917 and the graveyard was removed.
But the church still remains
I am looking at a later date
From 1927 ?
Where are there death
Records kept.
And a burial place.
I am looking for a  death record of
Austin Purcell
Born 1890 Gomersal
West Yorkshire.
I do know that this was a
Church used by his famliy.
Thankyou

I'm assuming that Austin had another name  :-\  The only birth registration I can find for Austin Purcell in 1890 is Austin Michael Purcell in Halifax Registration District.

There is a marriage entry - 1922, Fylde to Nellie Fielding, but I can't see a death registration for Austin Purcell.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Is this Nellie's death - 3 November 1965 - of 54 Gloucester Avenue, Lancaster, died at Beaumont Hospital?  Death registration says she was born 1899.

Amended:  Not her death as Nellie remarried in 1933

Hello Bumble Bee
I have been looking for
Austins Purcells death certificate record forever it looks
Like it has been destroyed
For whatever reason.
With my research I did find
A War memorial with his
Name on for all the brave men who fought in the ww1
.In Brikenshaw Bottoms west
Yorkshire.
I have knowledge of his Wife,s famliy(Nellie who married again ) but none of
Austin Purcell) his second name Michael has been used
On some documents I do know that this is his second
Name.And that his father is
Called Patrick mother Mary Ann.
Bethesda Congregational
Church is another area
Of research.I just put in
A area -and then his name on the Internet search engine
And -WW1 warmemorialsonline.org.uk
Returned a result.

I assume that you know that Austin's WW1 Pension records are available on Ancestry.  He was discharged in 1917 due to ill-health, and awarded a Silver War Badge.

Hello all
I have finally visted the Local
Libary
I have today obtained his
Silver War Badge Roll-
Transcription
Which states
Cause of discharge
Sickness Para 392(Xvi)Kings
Regulation 2(a) (i)
?How does this transcribe
Please.
A gentleman in the Libary
Explained to me the reason-
Behind the Silver War Badge.
Reason- Men normally walked
Around in uniform if not -
Normally women wanted to
Know why -if the badge was
Worn people knew they had
Been honourable discharged .
I was also advised the
Red Cross sometimes have
Records.
