William Douglas Migrated from UK 1839
« on: Monday 06 March 17 03:02 GMT (UK) »
Seeking any likely record of a William DOUGLAS (b.1798) & his wife Ellen Douglas nee PATTERSON. I believe they migrated from Northumberland England in 1839. I have been told by a cousin that he died in Canada in 1859. Seeking any information to help confirm these bits of information. Much appreciated. Thanks Rob

William Douglas and Ellen are both mentioned in Beer's History of Lambton County - 1906
If you have access to ancestry there are many family tree's is showing part 1 and 2 of Douglas history plus other extensive info.  Although it appears no one was able to find the burial of William in 1859 and Ellen 3 years later.

Hi

Try "A Dictionary of Scottish emigrants to Canada before Confederation', by D Whyte" - if you can't find a copy maybe you can get some one to lookup.

It might be best to include the names of the children in the lookup request.
