Elizabeth Starlings parents

Trying to find Elizabeth Starlings parents. She was born in 1817 and married William Guest 1st May 1838 at Portsea Hants

If she married in 1838 her father's name and occupation should be on her marriage certificate (among other useful information).  Do you have that?

They are in Portsea in 1851:

William Guest 35 Seaman born Notts
Elizabeth Ann do 34 born Portsea

plus 5 children.

Elizabeth Guest died in Portsea in Dec qtr 1851 aged 36.

So her birthdate looks likely to be closer to 1815 than 1817.

Where has the exact date of marriage come from?

As suggested above the marriage certificate should give you her father.  If you have the certificate and there wasn't a father on there then she was likely illegitimate but witness names could still be useful.

The marriage is on FamilySearch  - 01 May 1838 Saint Marys,Portsea,Hampshire,England. No image though and just the groom given, no parents.

I've picked up on an Elizth Starling, 1841 census. It shows her living in Isle of Wight. with her family but not her husband William Guest?. He was a seaman so he may have been off sailing the seven seas!! Joseph and Maria Starling could be her parents?

Marriage in Norfolk 26 Dec 1806 Joseph Starling and Maria Penny - neither are from County in 1841 so that fits but whilst there are baptisms for the other 2 daughters I can't see one for Elizabeth. 

Technically she should be under her married name if the same Elizabeth who married in 1838.

Really need her marriage certificate to be certain this is the right family for her.

The 5 children are a bit of a tangle on the 1851 - two sons called James age 5 and age 1 - and the registrations for the 3 I could find all have different spellings for mothers name Sterling, Sterting and Starline.

I see son William was 14 in 1851 so who is he with in 1841? **

** With his mother Elizabeth Guest so the Elizabeth Starling on the other 1841 census can't be the right person.  Would you agree with that?
