Schools in Chester 1860
« on: Friday 10 March 17 19:47 GMT (UK) »
I have an ancestor who was the proprietress of a girls school in the 1901 Census
In Chester, and her daughter was a teacher at the same school. I wondered if anyone would know which girls schools were in the city at that time.
I also remember reading somewhere, but can't remember where about a register of school teachers in Chester. Also don't know what date.... again does anyone know of such registers, as my ancestor may be on that.
Any help would be much appreciated

Hello Stan
Thank you for your reply.
Her name was Isabella Margaret Leaton born 1861
I put the wrong Census year on the post. That should read 1901 Census. Taken in Foregate street, Chester.
Sorry I had a brain storm.
