My kilted Grandfather Neil MacLean
« on: Wednesday 15 March 17 17:29 GMT (UK) »
I have just found a copy of this photo of my Grandfather Neil MacLean taken in 1912 when he was 30.  The Clan MacLean were celebrating the renovation of Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull in Scotland.  My grandfather died in 1927, way before my time.  Is there any chance of
- making the background lighter so that we can see Grandfather, and
- adding a little colour.  For guidance the jacket will be black and the kilt will be a Hunting MacLean tartan, green with black and white checks.

I'm afraid that I think you are stuck with what you have with this one.

Thank you for looking, and thank you for a brilliant effort from Loord74.  I shall leave the challenge open for a couple of days to see if anyone else is trying.

It used to be said by their enemies that the recitation of the MacLean chief's sloinneadh  (pedigree) in Gaelic was like the sound of a dog supping broth. "Eachain Lachain Eachain Lachain Eachain Lachain!"

Being Hector & Lachlan!  ;D
