Sheffield - WW1 commemoration event Sunday 19th March
« on: Friday 17 March 17 18:25 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

During this centenary for WW1 we are holding a commemorative event for the former boys of Crookesmoor school. This is to mark the occasion of the centenary of the planting of memorial trees in their honour in 1917. Most of them lost their lives at the Somme in 1916.

If any Rootschatters would like to join us, you would be very welcome. The event will start with a lone soldier starting off from Sheffield Railway station being joined by other soldiers as they march across the city to Crookes for a service of remembrance.

The flyer attached shows the times and meeting place.

Hope to see you there :)
