An Ancestry tree has his father dying in 1900, and his Mother (Caroline) Carrie on 1901 census (age 29) is down as widowed. and being supported by family.

There is a Walter J Bishop travelling to Australia on 14th May 1925, born about 1900, last known address in Soham, intending to stay in Australia, occupation farm labourer. 
Can you confirm this is him?

Hi as James/Carrie nee Elsden only married in 1898 Newmarket 3b 1168 and Walter b 1899 and James burial being 11th May 1900 Soham aged 27, looks like Walter was the only child?
