The Bishop family seem to have been in Soham for many years. Have trace back as far as Charles & Ann Bishop in 1841 census living Qua Fen Common Soham with family.

Possible marriage 12/5/1831 Charles Bishop & Ann Webb Soham.

Hi Luv, I've recently come across your grandfather while researching the history of my home. If we are talking about the same man, it appears after taking up a soldier settlement block for a few years he and his wife may have been the first owner of my current home. Interestingly enough myself and this man also served in the same battalion although many years apart. From what I can see he led a very interesting life. If you'd like to chat id love to know more.
