Motley and Anderson's of Lincolnshire, England
« on: Sunday 19 March 17 10:43 GMT (UK) »
Robertus Motley, a waterman, born about 1567 in Lincolnshire and died January 1630 in St. Peter, Saltfleetby, Lincolnshire, - married Jane Anderson, born about 1567 Lincolnshire, England.  Jane is listed as his wife in his (Robertus Motley) will (Lincolnshire & Huntingdonshire:  Calendar of Lincolnshire Wills, 1601-1652, Calendar of Huntingdonshire Wills, 1479 - 1652).
There are quite a few Anderson families in Lincolnshire at this time.
Does anyone know who Jane Anderson's parents were or are there any records that I might be able to find that would list her parents?
Thank you.

I cannot find any records, other than Robertus Motley's will, that has any information regarding Jane Anderson's parents.  There are quite a few Anderson families in Lincolnshire during this time period.  I was hoping someone might know who her parents were or suggest some records/places where I might find the information.  I am at a loss as to what to do next or where to go for information.  Thank you.

Hi

Welcome to rootschat  :)

I suspect that you have had no replies so far as you have ticked the post as completed.  Where and when did Robert marry Jane

1586 or 1587 Robertus and Jane (Anderson) Motley married as their first child was born in 1588 Billinghay, Lincolnshire.  Don't know where they were married.  Robertus was a waterman and moved around quite a bit, although always in Lincolnshire.

I have looked at Lincstothepast records.  The one register that is listed as having any information about an individual with the last name Anderson, is unreadable.  The print is so light that you cannot make out any of the words.  And Lincs is written across the records to make them unreadable.
I do know that the Anderson's of Lincolnshire came from Scotland.  Was trying to find Jane's fathers name in the hope of connecting the Lincolnshire Anderson's back to Scotland.
I do appreciate your time and thank you for your help.  Please keep me in mind if anything should come your way.
