Duplicate of birth certificate
« on: Monday 20 March 17 20:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi fellows.

I was born in UK in 1994 and got my birth registered on 24th January 1995 at Redbridge Sub-district. Since i was born to foreign parents who had to return to their home country, i am not a british national. while moving out, they conveniently misplaced my original birth transcript, and the original birth certificate. However, I do have a copy of the birth certificate.

Is there any way i can get the transcript and the birth certificate re-issued?

Welcome to Rootschat.

You could contact the Register Office at Redbridge or the General Register Office and ask their advice.

Yes you can

If you want to do it by post the forms are here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/general-register-office-gro-certificate-application-forms

One of the boxes on the form is applying for your own certificate

If you are under 50 you need to list who the parents are and where the person was born.  In this case it's you so shouldn't be hard.

I recently needed to get my childrens certificates - because I live in the same area I could go and get them direct from the registry office - I'm sure I had to give my relationship to them and why I wanted them - however in your case you want your own certificate
