Searching for Alexander Stewart Born about 1819
« on: Tuesday 21 March 17 04:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,
I am looking for any information on Alexander Stewart.
The records I currently have are:
Father:  John Stewart (no other details for his father & nothing for his mother).
Alexander Stewart Born About 1819, Glasgow, Lanarkshie, Scotland.
Married Catherine Murphy on 4th September 1852 in the Church Of Christ, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.
Their Son Walter Andrew Stewart (or could be Andrew Walter) was born on 4th August 1854.
Alexander Stewart Died on 22nd December 1866, Condah, Victoria, Australia.

I am interested in any further information on the Stewart side going back from Alexander as I have hit a road block.

Eventually I would like to know which Clan if any; this Stewart line is connected with (I have some old books which highlights the "Stewarts Of Appin" which I don't know if this is correct or not).

Thanking you kindly in advance for any information given.

Regards,
Alicia

Hi Alicia,

It may be an idea to edit your Subject heading while still accessible to include the 't' on Stewart in case you haven't noticed  :)

If you can list names of all children in order it may help to identify his mother's name if you can disclude any from Catherine's line?

Where did you find the father's name of John, was it his marriage?

Thanks Annie for letting me know about my typo error.

I have no further information on Alexander.
Everything I have found I have researched from another site, but I have hit a brick wall & can't seem to locate anything much further back (I have no info on any siblings, his mothers linage or his wife's).
