The John E Evans b. 1887 is described as son to John and Catherine Evans of Minera in the  censuses.

See earlier posting #1 :

1901 1 Berwig Cottages Minerea Wrexham
John Evans   28
Catherine Evans  26
John Edw Evans   4
Elizabeth Jane Evans 10/12

Reg district  Wrexham Piece 4616
Folio 85
Page4
Denbigbshire

NOTE the above census info is from 1891 census - see following post

This would suggest that Roy Evans, b. 1913 was the grandson of John and Catherine Evans.

I think malijibic was quoting from the 1891 census rather than the 1901 one - just checked and the ref  for 1891 is RG12/4616/85/4

In 1901 the family are at Penybont farm - RG13/5223/25/15

John Edward Evans is age 14 and a Horse boy on farm.

Hi Gadget,
Yes Catherine and John Evans are the adopted and fostered parents of Robert William Evans b 1913 Senghenydd.
I have managed with your help to locate Robert William Evans b 1913 in NSW Australia with his wife Bronwen Lewis and their only child John R L Evans. Unfortunately all are deceased. I managed to connect with a niece on the mothers side (Bronwen Lewis) on Genes United who tried to help their son JRL Evans trace the Evans family but unfortunately without success. I was informed that Catherine Evans the mother of John Edward Evans was a aunt (I say of RW Evans 1913) who adopted or fostered Robert William Evans (Roy) b 1913.) The above information matches the information that was given to me by my mother in law.
My thoughts are if Jane Evans had a child out of wedlock did she have another child later (R W Evans or William Evans).
Are the workhouse records available on line.
Cheers and Thank You

The information that I have on Robert William Evans b 21st October 1913 Senghenyyd Wales.
R W Evans was adopted by an Uncle Joseph Arthur Evans in 1913 and resided in North Wales.
I have a copy of the papers signed by his mother Emma Evans giving up all righst to her son.
R W Evans b 1913 migrated to Australia in the late 1970s to be with his only son.
R W Evans died 1988 and his ashes were taken back to North Wales.

Update on the Evans Family of Corwen Merionethshire. I was fortunate to find the whereabouts of
Robert William Evans b 1913 Senghenydd who was adopted by his fathers brother Joseph Arthur Evans b 1882 and his wife Elizabeth Annie Jones. I located R W Evans in the 1939 Registry and was able to research and locate R W Evans some 20 miles away in NSW Australia. Unfortunately Robert W Evans died in 1988.
Robert W Evans b 1913 Step father Joseph Arthur Evans died in 1919 at Llanelly and his widow remarried in 1926 to John Edward Evans son of John and Catherine Evans as listed in previous posts.
Joseph Arthur Evans b 1882 Corwen parents are Robert Evans b 1855 Llangower Merioneth and Margaret Thomas b1853 Cynwyd Merioneth. Robert Evans b 1855 the son of Joseph Evans. Margaret Thomas b 1853 the daughter of Humphrey Thomas Cynwyd.
To research my tree I have concentrated on Joseph Arthur Evans b 1882 brother of my husbands Grandfather Robert William Evans b 1875 and brother to Joseph A Evans.

I'm glad you located him but sad that you weren't able to meet.

Is there anything else that you need about the family?
