East Langdon Parish Registers - FINNIS
« on: Tuesday 28 March 17 16:30 BST (UK) »
Having taken the Ancestry DNA test, I'm trying to prove that my maternal ancestor Robert FINNIS (who married Ann SPICER in 1750 Dover) is part of the East Langdon Finnis family. I've seen researchers suggest that Robert was born in 1728 East Langdon, but a parish register entry of a baptism would make me feel much happier! If someone can help, I'd really appreciate it!

Regards,

Lesley

There is a Robert Finnis bpt Sutton-next-Dover 1714 son of James Finnis and Mary.  You need to consider this one as well.

Hi Lesley

If you look at the end of the thread

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=765306.18

you will find mention of the Robert Finnis of Sutton by Dover.  If you accept the detail therein you might eliminate him from your search.

Tony

Thanks, Tony. Going through that thread, I'm finding snippets relating to my own line which is most helpful. About to construct a giant 'tree' of Finnis families!

Lesley

Lesley,

Not sure what you might find in this (you may have already seen it) currently runs to 18 pages!

I had stumbled upon it, thanks, Tony - didn't realize it went on for 18 pages, though! Guess what I'll be doing this weekend? Thank heavens for computers - imagine writing all that out by hand!!!
