Whalers
« on: Wednesday 29 March 17 01:47 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate information on two brothers named Keane that were whalers before 1800. My 2nd great grandfather came to America and changed his name around 1812 and then two men were his father and uncle. I don't know if they were from Derry but from what I have read there were whalers there.

If you google   history of whaling in ireland

you will see it was all over the coast
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.
