« on: Saturday 01 April 17 13:21 BST (UK) »
I have a 1910 birth certificate and on it is listed the fathers occupation as being a Street Organist. I have looked and cant seem to find what it was, so came here to see if any of you guys would know.

I'd guess that was someone also known as an organ grinder i.e. a musician who plays a portable organ in the street?

Still a common sight in the Netherlands!
(I was living there for 16 years)

There is even a museum in Utrecht (where I lived) devoted to all kinds of mechanical music, including street organs.

Brings the expression "want to speak to the organ grinder not the monkey" to mind.  Some used have small monkeys with them. Maybe your street organist had a monkey, that would be exotic!😄
