She married my grandfather in 1915 and it says she was divorced
When you say 'it' do you mean family stories?

She had a sister called susan who we think was younger
Have you found Susan on any censuses to say where she was born? Eg 1901 Ireland census or 1911 Scotland census? Have you found Agnes in 1911 - in Ireland or Scotland? Scotland censuses from ScotlandsPeople or transcription on ancestry.

We believe they married in Glasgow where they had six children then moved to bristol and had another two
It would, as others have suggested, be extremely useful to obtain her marriage certificate. If the marriage was in Scotland, the only place to obtain the certificate will be via the ScotlandsPeople website. Have you found them on the English 1939 register on findmypast if they were in Bristol [sorry but terms & conditions mean we cannot look on the 1939 register for you]? This will give the exact birthdates of John & Agnes.

There are two births in Bristol, 1929 and 1931 for Leslie/O'Donnell parents.

Thus would indicate a maiden name if O'Donnell, so what name did she have on marriage?

That sounds like my father who was born in 1929 and his youngest brother born in 1931. Her maiden name would have been O'Donnell and married name leslie

If the family were still in Ireland, there are only 10 Susan O'Donnells under the age of 10 on the 1901 Ireland census [free to search & download at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie. 1 in Co Clare, 6 in Co Donegal, 1 in Co Leitrim & 1 in Co Londonderry. You could open each page & see if there is an 11 year old Agnes as well also if father's name is as on Agnes' marriage certificate.

Yes I understand that so presumably she married as O'Donnell and not with the surname from her previous marriage.
As Josey asked, what was her father's name and do the witness names give any clues?
