James Doherty b 1912, Magherafelt
« on: Monday 03 April 17 13:08 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to find out anything about my grandfather, James Doherty, born January 1912 in Magherafelt. His wife was called Emily, I don't know her family name.
I believe his father was also called James, who did in 1926, when my grandfather was 14.
My father (also James) was born in Magherafelt in 1937, died in Leicester in 1975.
Kinghan, Doherty

If his birth was 27th January 1912, then his parents were John Doherty and Isabella Bradley.

John Doherty and Bella Bradley married in 24th April 1911.

Both certificates can be viewed for free, via the Civil Records section at www.irishgenealogy.ie .

A James Doherty married an Emiline Kinghan, on 23/6/1936 in Magherafelt district.

For a small cost, you can purchase details of the certificate via GRONI. It should confirm his father's name.
