Hit a dead end!! Peter Taylor born 1886
« on: Tuesday 04 April 17 22:36 BST (UK) »
Hi and Helppppppp!!!! :-\ On one side of my family I've happily glided smoothly back to 1515! Yet the other side I'm really struggling. My great great grandfather was Peter Taylor born 1886 Leeds/everton/Liverpool area, His Father is believed to be called Joseph and his mother Mary O Haley of some sort of Irish Descent (I can find Healey but not O Haley)
Through the family grapevine it is believed that Mary died suddenly at a Liverpool train station in 1918 waiting for her son peter to return from war. Peter moved to stoke on trent and married a Sarah jane birks, he died in stoke on trent 1956 (which is where the family is now situated) Nothing seems to link together on ancestry.com
I just keep hitting brick walls! If need to crack this generation so I can go further back!!
I'm wondering if Marys death was reported in a newspaper as it was a pretty tragic story :'(............can anyone help me get hold of more info????? Thankyou  :)

The only possible marriage is Sept quarter 1865, Leeds.  Mary Ellen Haley and on the same page is a George William Taylor.  How sure are you of the husband's name?

GRO indexes show
Thomas 1876 with mother Haley
James 1885 with mother Haley
Peter 1886 with mother as Hally

A birth certificate would show you the father's name and occupation.
