I have this as a place of birth for one of my relatives, the mother obviously came to Kendal to give birth as she was a single mum in the 30s.

Does anyone know if this was a special building for unmarried mothers?

Does it still stand? I think it may have been knocked down for the new rd, but I'm unsure.
