Family: Abery
« on: Thursday 06 April 17 16:53 BST (UK) »
Hello, just joined, first post....wonder if anyone can help me with my family research? I have a copy of a 1841 census for the Abery family, the address is described as just 'Heath', Gt Waldingfield. it must have been quite a place as there were other families there at the time. Does anyone know what this house was or who may have any connection with the Abery's. thanks in anticipation - Steve

Hi

Welcome to rootschat.

It is probable that 'Heath' was an area of Waldingfield not a property

Welcome to RootsChat
In the 1841 census it was only necessary for the enumerator to give the name, if any, of the house, or part of the town, village or hamlet in which it stood.

Many thanks Rosie, thought it may be a large house as no numbers, but they could well be cottages in that area? Best - Steve

This map shows Babergh Heath Farm, Babergh Hall and Babergh Place, which are all mentioned in the 1841 census. http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16&lat=52.0657&lon=0.7724&layers=171&b=1
The Babergh Hall entry is just after the Albery family entry.
