Hi Adelaide Hills,

It would be best if I split your post from this topic and post it on the Galway board. You should get some responses there.

Hi Gail,

It's always best to include the name of the individual you're researching and other relevant information, i.e. exactly what I have done when renaming this new topic.

Your goal is to attract readers to your topic.

See http://www.rootschat.com/help/posting_best.php for more ideas.

Hello and welcome  ;)

I think the Galway reference might be Kilmacduagh and thus index shows Geoghegan in that civil parish.

You say though that Margaret was from Dublin. Civil registration for Catholics did not start until 1864 so you would be looking for a parish record.

There is this one in Enniskerry Parish, Wicklow -October 1853 - Thomas Geoghegan and Margaret Toole. There is no family information though.

Baptism for Anne Geoghegan September 1854

This may be your family but there is always an element of doubt with so little supporting information.

WOW THANK YOU SO MUCH   I really appreciate everything you are doing . can we try and  find out with the Kilmacduah Galway parish  records dates  maybe brothers ? Are the names on the right hand side where they were living?  But the best is Thomas a and Margaret marriage certificate .  Where is Enniskerry parish Wicklow .If the child Ann was theirs would should be an the ships records . I am trying to read the witness on the certificate  I think I need stronger glasses  ha ha .Again thank you so much  I am so excited .I am sure everyone feels the same like  finding  where it al began . :) ;) :) ; ; ;) :)
