CREAMER OF KINSALE COUNTY CORK
« on: Saturday 08 April 17 05:50 BST (UK) »
My 3 G Grandmother, Honora CREAMER came from Kinsale , County Cork, Ireland.  She was born about 1802 and died in Haselbury Plucknett, Somerset England about 1846.  Around 1825 she married a carpenter, Edward PURCHASE.  I can't find a baptism or marriage for Honora.  They had two sons in Ireland: Jonas and Richard and then moved to Somerset where the remainder of their children were born.  The other children were Almeada, Abijah, Azariah, Azuba , Abel Cochran and Agenoria.  Jonas went to Canada and Azariah to Queensland, Australia.  Anyone connected to this family ?  Am wondering what the significance of the name Cochran is.

Honora Creamer/Purchase is in several trees on Ancestry, with connected information e.g. copy of her death certificate in 1846.

Suggest you take out a trial subscription to Ancestry if you are not yet a member, and then try and contact some of the tree owners.

To see if anyone on here has any connections with the family, have a look on 'Surname Interests' under 'Your Tools', below.

Cochran appears to be her mother's maiden surname.

The two children born in Ireland have very different first names to those born in England - do all of them have the same parents do you believe?

When Edward dies in 1874 his will mentions the sons Jonas and Azariah and daughters Almeada, Azubah and Ajanora, - just for information if you did not know this.

There is a baptism for a Jonas Edward Purchase on February 19th, 1826 in St Helier, Jersey - parents Edward and Honora, godparents Thomas and Charlotte Smith and Robert Rendals.

Added:
Baptism for Richard Purchase (parents Edward and Honora) February 9th 1827 St Helier.

If you look at the 1841 census, Honora has I in the final column (for birth in Ireland), but Jonas and Richard have J (for Jersey?)

Just for information there is a marriage of a Honora Creamer to Benjamin Horton on 13th June 1825 in Cloyne, Cork,  Churchtown, Kilteskin.

If the same Honora, Benjamin dies or she leaves him and takes up with Edward Purchase, as a very, very remote possibility.

None of those ancestry trees (on a quick look) appears to give those baptisms in Jersey, but they still have lots of other information between them.
Perhaps the sons did not know - if their birthplaces are recorded incorrectly on other censuses?

Chempat you have lead me to a marriage in 1824 at St Helier, Jersey for a Bridget Creamer and a Paul Doyle, both from Ireland .  I'm tinkin that Bridget may have been a relative of my Honora.  Is there anyone out there who is descended from this couple?
