Welcome to Rootschat  :)

Are you offering information about the Ousebys as you say you have lots of documented information or asking for help?
It would be no use our looking for them if you already have the info.  :)

Hi Hippoo, and welcome :) :)

It would help a lot if you could tell us more about the individuals you are researching so we don't look for information you already have.

And what are your biggest brick walls you'd like knocked down?

Henry Birkenhead Ousbey born 1851/1852 died 1867 in Manchester.

Some online trees give his parents as James Ousbey/Owsbey and Jane Whittaker.

1861 census has Henry with parents James (Chelsea Pensioner) and Jane (Washerwoman) and siblings Thomas (14), James (12) and Charles (3);  living in Ancoats, Manchester.

Hi Again.

Thanks Nanny Jan!
Thats the boy

I am now "brick walled" with:
1. Henry Birkenhead Ousbey. - born 'on sea' (1861 Census Henry Ousbey, I have his Death Cert. "Henry Birkenhead Ousbey" dated 9th Jan 1867)

***I cannot find his actual birth cert. It appears likely that he was born on HMS troopship Birkenhead en route to 8th Kaffir Wars in South Africa.

2. James Ousbey (son of James Ousbey!) - born in Manchester about 1849 (Present on 1861 Census, age 12 a gas fitter AND 1871 Census, age 21, iron moulder)

***I cannot find his birth cert. or any other official documentation.

Kind Regards
Hippoo
