Smith in High Wycombe

Hi 

Walter Thomas Smith b. 1838 in High Wycombe was the son of Sarah Smith b. 1803 High Wycombe. On the censuses 1851-71 she was widowed but I can't find the Father of Walter Thomas Smith ,maybe a Illegitimate birth? But his mother Sarah Smith , was a widow so It cannot be her maiden name , isn't it? I've tried to find a birth for Walter Thomas and for his mother Sarah Smith , But in vain  I hope someone can help

There is marriage for a Walter thomas Smith in Kennington 7 Mar 1864 to Emma Whitsey. He also lists his father as William

Is there a Marriage for a William Smith and Sarah in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire?

On the 1871 census, Walter lists his birthplace as Pen (sic). Penn is a village close to High Wycombe. Maybe the whole  family were from Penn rather than High Wycombe.

I wonder, christian names are the wrong way round though - names are too common to confirm
