Phillip/Henry Martin
« on: Monday 10 April 17 13:59 BST (UK) »
Hello
I am trying to trace my x3 great grandfather. His name at birth was Philip Henry Martin however went by Henry all his life. I have him on the 1881 census in prison, 6 months into his 12 month sentence of hard labour for the attempted murder of his wife Nicholasina. I can't find anything of him after this until a POSSIBLE sighting in 1905 working on a Royal Mail carrier ship RMT Aragon. The name listed is Henry Philip Martin so it's possible it isn't him. Does anyone know where I could find any more details about the Henry Phillip working on the Aragon? Or how I could confirm that this was him. Or if it isn't him then how I could find him?

He went by Henry on all official documents like Census.

Henry Phillip Martin on the Aragon in 1905 is listed as Mr Henry Phillip Martin , Cabin Passenger , arriving Southampton from Buenos Aires. I don't see anything indicating that he was working on  the ship.
