I would like information both before they went to Canada and what happened to them after 1917.  I am trying to find a name for the parents.  Florence file notes mother as Eliza nothing more.

Florence was sent back to England in September 1920.  Caroline remained in Canada but have nothing on where she was after 1917.

I know of Annie,s life in Canada

Clarend The Barnardo offices in England hold records for the Louisa Birt children. You would need to contact Valerie Smith at valerie.smith@barnardos.org.uk

The girls show up on the Board of Guardian reports, they were taken into care in the Kensington Union Workhouse.

Florence Bond, 22, was headed for 14 Skerries Rd, Anfield, Liverpool when she was (as the passenger list records) deported back to England on the Minnedosa, arriving in September 1920.

Can anyone find the three girls' births on the GRO site, that would give their mother's maiden name? I've tried, but without definite dates and places of birth it is difficult. The reason they went in to care might help as well in case they were all illegitimate.

Thank you to all who welcomed me to this site and responded.

I research British Home Children in Canada regardless of the sending/receiving organization.

I have been working for 25 years on these girls.  In 1997, I got the three files from Barnardos After Care.  I am aware of their lives in Canada until 1920 when Florence returned to England and Caroline was past the age of reporting to Mrs. Birt organization.

I was hoping the GRO database would assist in narrowing down my search, but I can not find registrations for the three sisters with the same surname for the mother.

Possible birth dates from their files are Florence 10 May 1899, Caroline 12 March 1900, Annie 4 April 1904.  There was a note on Annie's file that there was no CoE baptism for her.

I have found the entry of Florence and Caroline into the Board of Guardians Kensington school in September 1904, leading to suspicion that their mother might have died.  For some period before May 1909 all three girls were in the same place as Annie, my grandmother, described her sisters and always knew their names.

Any assistance on their life before Canada would be great.  Also I am trying to find Caroline's married name and did she have a family.
