what happened to Florence
« on: Tuesday 11 April 17 12:24 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find information about Florence Jane Dalgleish born 1909 Liverpool. I think she married Joseph Edwards. Her sister never heard anything at all about her and up to the time her sister died she always wondered what had happened to Florence so I too am now wondering! Don't know if anyone can help.
Many thanks
Cecie

I can't see any marriage to a Joseph Edwards and none of the marriages for a Florence Dalgleish after 1935 seem to fit.

Was she the daughter of George and Mathilde with a sister Jessie?

Any idea when she was last heard of? Could she have been adopted?

Her name is spelt 'Dalgliesh' and she married in 1931.   She and Joseph appear to have had 3 children - 2 daughters and a son (won't name as could be still living) but easily found, again with mmn as Dalgliesh.    Her birth and her sisters are also registered as Dalgliesh (and not Dalgleish).

It looks like she could have died as Florence J Edwards bc.1909 died 1949 Prescot, Lancashire.

She appears to have been born 29/12/1908 (birth reg'd Mar.1909) but is shown as year older on 1939 Register Index living in Widnes.

Looks like Florence and Jessie had 2 younger siblings born in 1912 and 1916- their father died 1953 and their mother in 1958.

Just found that she and Joseph had 4 further children in Prescot - son 1940, son 1944, daughter 1946 and another son in Dec.1948.

An online tree shows Florence died 23/4/1949 and buried at Allerton Cemetery, Liverpool.

With a family of young children one would think that maybe Joseph married again - there's a possible marriage at Prescot in Dec.1949 but with such a common name can't say that this was him.

He was born 31/1/1907 and died Dec.1969 Prescot.
