I'll wait to see what WR turns up but if it's the Samuel Jones that I think it is, his parents were Edward and Sarah and I think he's a distant realtive of mine

I think I'm getting there- Clara Jones was the sister who informally adopted William's son born in 1924 so believe I'm on the right track.

I found an obituary with all the family names that fit, including William's second wife which started me off on the journey.

It's very possible, Edward and Sarah are I believe the parents of Samuel Jones, Samuel was born in Chirk, Vron Vriara, in about 1845, he married Elizabeth Phillips in 1873.

Samuel is my gt gt grandfather. I've not explored the siblings of Samuel as yet.

I was  looking at their marriage entry online  and was going to ask if it was Elizabeth Phillips -  March 31st, Llangollen. They were both living Foncysylte at the time.

All my info is on my other computer so will look it out.  I think my relationship is fairly distant but they all lived in Black Park/Halton in those days.
