ELIZABETH FARRELL
« on: Monday 17 April 17 21:13 BST (UK) »
Married William Hughes 2/12/1853 in Milltownpass R.C. church and thereafter lived in Rattin, Co. Westmeath, until her death on 8/23/1965.  Can't find out the names of her father/mother despite looking in all available resources.  Has anyone researched the Farrell family from Westmeath?

Do you mean 1865 for her death?  Do you know how old she was when she married?

Not sure what information is on marriages/deaths for Ireland.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Thank you.  I see by the marriage certificate that her father was John Farrell, apparently a farmer in Milltownpass.  Anyone have any info on him?  Yes, I have the right dates.  She was my mother-in-law.

Hello,
The marriage certificate shows that Elizabeth was resident in Milltown Pass not necessarily her father John. She was a Postmistress -in your post on the other thread you have her as a housekeeper.
As others have pointed out, your dates do not match up.

Married William Hughes 2/12/1853 in Milltownpass R.C. church and thereafter lived in Rattin, Co. Westmeath, until her death on 8/23/1965.  Can't find out the names of her father/mother despite looking in all available resources.  Has anyone researched the Farrell family from Westmeath?

dathai has obviously found the right marriage though.
Have you tried looking for Elizabeth in the censuses?

Thanks to all who helped me here.  I really appreciate the assistance because there are so many similar names in the Irish families. Most helpful was the marriage certificate, which shows that this Elizabeth Farrell was 27 in 1917, which would have made her 75 when she died in 1965, which sounds right.  I had not seen this certificate before.  It will be very helpful.  Again, many thanks.  I apologize if anyone thought it was a "wild goose chase."
