Hi

I am looking to find out about a john turner born about 1797 ??? ( Herefordshire, or ???)

In Hereford assizes 21/8/1821 and transported and transporter on the Guilford to new Australia

Can anyone find the court case and the parents and if he had any siblings

There is also a John Turner at the Hereford County Sessions, 19th October 1837?
John Turner, age 39, found not guilty of Larceny.

and again, 26th June 1843
John Turner, age 48, found not  guilty of Larceny.

There are a lot of John Turners mentioned in the Criminal Registers! :-\

But this looks to be your man:
Summer Assizes 1821
John Turner; Larceny from a parson. Transportation for life
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Article about a John Turner stealing boots & some silver from a sleeping man. Also a coat from the Green Dragon

Hereford Journal 07 November 1821
Article mentioning several people including a John Turner condemned at the last assizes had been removed from 'Our County Jail' for the hulks at Woolwich yesterday

He was lucky really being transported - another John Turner around the same time stole 21 sheep & burgled a house, he was executed  ::)   ;D

I am also looking for john Turner b 1797 marr mary hennessey.Why do you think he was born in Dublin.I havent found any records saying he has .Would love to hear from you
