Your post caught my attention as my 2x great grandmother, Mary Ann MGill, nee Davies, married an Isaac Iles as her third husband on 8th November 1886, St Philip and James, Bristol. Previously she had married two bothers in succession, which was actually illegal.
Anyway, I digress. To find out about vital event in 19th century Bristol use family search. under their English records you can find practically the complete Bristol Parish Registers, and some Non-Conformist registers, although images are not available. I found it invaluable in drawing up my Bristolean family tree.
