Roderick MacLeod

Would anyone be able to identify this man for me. Just his dob and parent's names eould do. Roderick MacLeod was born in the village of Back, Isle of Lewis. He ran away from his home in Back and made his way to Stornoway. He either joined a ship in Stornoway or got the ferry to the mainland and joined the Royal Navy. In 1892 he was on board HMS Hyacinth, and in due cours was on HMS Orama in WW1.

Have you looked for him on the Scottish 1881 census which is free to search here

The most likely Roderick in 1881 and living in Back has parents as Kenneth and Margaret
