Off Topic - Furnival & Co Ltd?
« on: Tuesday 25 April 17 17:30 BST (UK) »
A printer in the building where I work has a rather splendid lithographic proofing press.

It was made by "Furnival & Co Ltd" of "Reddish & London"

Googling reveals a basic outline of facts at Graces Guide.

http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Furnival_and_Co

I would love to get an approximate date for her press, which would probably
involve access to either old catalogues, or (the ultimate) old order books.

Does anyone familiar with Manchester/Cheshire archives and records happen
to know anything that would help?

Hi, Cheshire Archives has a search option for their catalogue of holdings. Just google
Cheshire Archives and then click on Catologue and enter the search perameters you require.

Greetings, and a warm welcome to Rootschat.

Perhaps it was one of the machines in this advert (c1890?)

The “Reddish Iron Works” appeared on “Furnival Street” Reddish, Stockport in the late 19Century. Perhaps it was made there?
