If you have access to Ancestry - this is the link to the Freeman of the City record

It looks as if it was done for me, there being an asterix at the appropriate point in my note to you.    Whatever, thank you for the reminder.     George, Charlie, James and David were the brothers mentioned.

Regards

Heather, thanks very much for that.    I have been well served by yourself and others and it has been good.    My wife was a bit rude about her uncle Murdo and his lack of a sense of humour when I told her about the reference to his probity.    She had been evacuated from Glasgow to Cullen for a year during WW-2 and and met him thus quite often although uncle David was the one permanent Wood resident at that time.      I met his widow once.
Whatever thanks again and best wishes

Brian

Brian,
do you know if  Sir Murdoch McKenzie Wood attended Cullen primary school? We are currently taking over the old school from the council to run it as a Community and residential centre. We are looking for all the old pupils especially those with a story. By the way does your wife have any recollections of her war year in Cullen, our heritage group would be interested to here what these children did when they were in Cullen. Maybe she went to school here?
