https://familyhistory.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ in 1966 which I presume is for his sister.   The parents' names seem to match.
The death notice which followed names her children and grandchildren but not her brother.

Lovely that Robert seems to be found now in Scotland 

yes it does seem a match name and yes Robert does seem to be in aberdeen Scotland and a baby born with the same name as his mother also in aberdeen a year after a marriage in northumberland seems probable. Its as close as we will get unless i ever find a new relative that can can confirm anything.

Yes it was the birth and death of a possible daughter with the same name as his mother I was interested in  If her mothers maiden name was the same that would have connected the marriage of Robert and jessie in Northumberland, Also I could have checked for other children As there is a death of a jessie ann Sobey also in Aberdeen it seems probable. We will buy the death cert for Robert

After successfully finding Robert I wonder if anyone can help trace his brother Thomas Henry sobey  born either 1883 or 1895 in Ireland  Inishowen, Donegal, Ireland.
It seemed he was in the navy as an apprentice until 1914

I cant find any war record of him so far.
he seemed to be on a vessel called the sweethome in 1911 census
Apparently after WW1 he left to go to Australia but was never heard from again.

I can't see any mention of him in Australia, Gwen.

There is a death of a Thomas H SOBEY in 1957 aged 65 in Northumberland, UK on https://www.freebmd.org.uk/  There are no other details given so it is difficult to tell if it is him.

Hopefully some UK experts will be along soon to tell us more.

According to the census he was born in ireland as was his sister florence. No idea why except maybe work as they went back to pembrokshire  however I havent checked birth records in ireland yet to make sure just took it for granted
