ENG to Ireland WILKINSON 1690s
« on: Wednesday 28 July 04 04:49 BST (UK) »
A tale passed down the generations in my family is that the first WILKINSON to come to Ireland was from England.  He was in King William III Army and fought in the Battle of the Boyne 1690.  For his service he was granted a lease of Townlands of Creenasmere, Kilmacloo and Faymore, County Donegal.
Does anyone have a recommendation of where to start researching this story?

Skippi, I don't have any reason to believe my ancestor was an officer in 1690, but I appreciate the lead you gave me!  Thank you, Skippi!  Sandy , San Antonio, Texas
