Frances Beamish & John B. Wolfe Connecticut
« on: Thursday 04 May 17 09:55 BST (UK) »
Hello rootschatters!

My great grandfather's sister Frances R. BEAMISH (sometimes known as Fanny) married John B. WOLFE on 5th April 1894, at Kilmacabea, Cork, Ireland.
They emigrated to America, and I have found them on the ship Campania which arrived in New York on 16th April 1894. The document says that their destination was CONNECTICUT.
John was a storekeeper.
I have also found death of John B. Wolfe in 1926, in New Haven , Connecticut.
There is also another J.B. Wolfe death in 1926 in Mapledale Cemetery ...
I can't find anything on Frances...
Can anyone help me to find this family - I would like to know if they had any children etc etc.

Many thanks in advance,
Liz Augereau
Cognac, France

Here is a LINK to their marriage for reference

Although I don't see a birth or baptism for Frances; this piece LINK states that she was born in 1863 which gives an approx age for searching in the USA for her.

Did Frances have a sister Minnie ? Middle initial on this one is "B" - could be for Beamish  ???
Imm date would be slightly out but that would not be unusual.

Possible Fannie - 1930 Census Whalley Avenue New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut.

Minnie J Van Buren   65 Born England. Widowed. Age at first marriage 19 years.
Fredrick E Vanburen   46 Born Connecticut.

Many many thanks for all your help Sandra and MyLuck...

My Frances was definitely from Co Cork and her second name was Roche - Frances Roche Beamish.
I am sure that the van Buren family is not hers .  She had a brother Abram and another Samuel. Her sister had died before she emigrated in 1894 immediately after her wedding...

All your work seems to conclude that perhaps my John B. Wolfe is the one buried in Mapledale Cemetery...
What progress since this morning!  Great.
Liz
