Hi. An in-law of mine is looking for any records confirming a birth for Esther Ann Steer born about 1846 in possibly Victoria Australia. The info she has so far is of a marriage to a William Mc Conchie about 1867 in Nelson New Zealand.. I have tried to no avail. Cant even find her on any passenger list to NZ. Would appreciate any help.

Might be worth looking on Ancestry as there are several trees with this family.

They have her as the eldest daughter of William Steer, a farmer and Elizabeth Dunkley. Born 5th March  1848 Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

Married William M'Conchie in Appleby New Zealand on 4th May 1867.

Death 11th October 1928, Nelson, NZ.

Born 1825 in Sussex. Emigrated to Victoria around 1846, then NZ. 14 children and 100 grandchildren!

Added: this says he married in Geelong and came to NZ with his family, but can't see a marriage or births on the Vic BDM. Yes, tricky  ???

I has a look at a couple of Trees but Census info seems wrong to me.
