Civil registration did not begin in Quebec until 1994 (yes!) so there will only be a baptism record. These are found in the Drouin Collection available through Ancestry. You would need a Canadian or World subscription to see the image. If you don't have either, check if your local library subscribes to Ancestry Library Edition...it can be accessed that way. Put just surname and year.

From the Drouin Collection...

Ann Eliza Wood
Born 12 July 1847
Baptized 23 August 1847
Father John Wood Gunner and Driver (?) Royal Artillery
Mother Sarah Ann Graham
Sponsors James Curtis, John Wood, ...?... Ann Smith who all signed
Parents also both signed
At Montreal, Anglican Garrison Church

We search for information but it is up to the thread owner to verify that it is correct.

If this is the one you are looking for, as a Royal Artillery birth the registration is likely to be in the GRO Regimental Birth Indices ( available on FindMyPast ). This one looks possible :

Anne E Wood 1847 R.A. 22 127 - usually the birthplace is given in the index but in this case it isn't.

Thankyou both for your help, PB the one you found is the correct one, Annie Eliza was my GG Grandmother and her father John was a Gunner / Driver with the Royal Artillery, John and Sarah Ann married in London, they had three daughters Annie born first and the only one born in Canada, the other two where born in England so I'm assuming John's military service had them posted in Canada at the time.

Thankyou again, have been trying to locate Annie for a long time so really appreciate your help.

Cheers

Hello PB,

Seem to be having some trouble finding it on Ancestry, are you able to copy the link for me where you found the details and then I can go in and view the image from there.
