Thanks for tracking William Turner through the years via the voters lists & directories.. assuming the one at 152 Coleman is who we're looking for. Are there not any Canadian death indexes to check for Ellen Lydia Turner or Toronto newspaper obits.

Sadly Canada does not have A BMD Index - unfortunately quite strict privacy laws in Canada.

Run Kitty is the obituary expert but ideally a date of death would be helpful - otherwise it takes hours and hours searching through newspapers.

The return trip to Canada in 1928 has Ellen going home to husband William at 152 Coleman Ave Toronto. The same manifest has her mother, Mrs A Bishop, listed at 6 York in Bedford. So it looks like this is your couple at the same address in the voter's lists.

I was looking at a map to see what cemeteries were closest to Coleman, and there is a very large (originally anglican) one that might be promising.  If you go to http://www.stjohnsnorwaycemetery.ca/ and scroll to the bottom, it states;

Genealogy
With over 50,000 gravesites and nearly 80,000 interments, we are a substantial historical record as well as an historic site.
    St John's Cemetery is pleased to respond to genealogy enquiries.

The contact info for them is at the bottom of their page.  It's a long shot, but it might be worth the few minutes it takes to fire them off an email?
