Hi i have been doing some research on my Family tree my name is Michael Straw my Father was Thomas Straw born on 20th January 1917 in Nottingham his Father was Samuel Straw born in Basford, Ilkeston Derbyshire in 1868

Hi my grandfather Samuel straw was born in Ilkeston and had three sons my uncles frank lawrence and Cyril (my father) and one daughter Minnie his wife's name was Martha they moved to bulwell after they married in 1891 would love to see your family tree seems all the straws can be linked back to the 1600's

What is strange is in the 1841 Census Thomas and all 7 children are listed               
but not his wife Mary although records show they married in 1824, 17 years               
prior to the census~This shows them liiving at Bower Hill,Ilkeston,Basford,               
Derbyshire               
1851 census just records  Thomas Mary  Samuel and Charles living together               
This shows them living at Common,Ilkeston, Basford,Notttingham~must have               
been boundary changes made

Having just seen the post from millmoor on May 24th regarding the 1871 census of Samuel Straw, group number 2 William is my Great Grandfather and his son samuel Straw is my Grandfather i have more information on all of the family
