Notes on the Will of Richard Nethersole 1
« on: Thursday 25 May 17 23:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

I hoping someone here can help me with some details in the Will of Richard Nethersole.

Can anyone tell me the date given at the start of the first of these images? Also can anyone tell me the name of the parish where he says he wishes to be buried? I think it says "my body to be buried within the Churchyard of Kingstone" however I might be wrong.

In the second image can anyone help me with transcription of what it says from "Wherefore I Will and Ordain...." up to where it says William (something) on the second to last line. In particular I am keen to clarify names and any relationships stated. So far I can make out that he names  Executors, Robert Nethersole, Leonard Baker, Thomas Harefield, and Robert Best. Robert Nethersole and Leonard Baker are both described as "of ........." however I'm not sure of the places (I think Leonard might be "of Deal" but I am not certain).

Many thanks in advance

Matt

Only the year is given – 1528.

It’s written Kyngeston, so presumably Kingston is correct.

Many thanks for that info. I thought the year was 1528 but I wasn't certain. I can now pair it up with the right Richard Nethersole in my tree.

Thanks again

Matt

Hi,

If you are a member of Kent Family History Society (KFHS) you will be able to access this Will online in the future, as I am currently transcribing the whole thing.  I regret this is only available to members of KFHS - as are all the other Wills and Inventories (over 2,000 now).
