Holyhead Photographs
« on: Friday 26 May 17 23:17 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help.

There is a lady from America coming over next month. During her stay she will be visiting Holyhead, where her family lived before emigrating in the 1880s.

I’d like to be able to show her photographs of the places her family lived in, so as to give her a flavour of what life was like in the town. I’ve been over to the Anglesey Archives, but they don’t have any photos of the places I’m looking for.

Does anyone have photos, and would be happy for me to copy and print them out for our visitor, of the following places?

Armenia Street/Terrace
Mill Street
Weaver Street/Lane
Thomas Street
Ffynnon Gybi
Edmund Street
Hill Street
Forge Hill
Well Street
Boston Court
Tanner’s Row
Newry Cottage
Field Street
Millbank Gardens
Rock Street

Many thanks.

Keith.

There is a Facebook page entitled 'Old Holyhead' with hundreds of old photographs of the town and area nearby. You could always post a list of the streets you are looking for, as a lot of local people are adding photographs regularly and may have what you are looking for.

Hi Ellenmai,

Yes I've been on there and tried that already, but for some reason my post was removed. No idea why, no explanation given! Most strange.

Very strange indeed Keith  ??? There is a facility to send a message to the person who set the page up, why don't you enquire as to why, it could have been an error.
