Not sure-people take all sort of things to cemeteries nowadays don`t they.
Have you a phone number or email address so you can ask.?
Toys for babies, little Christmas trees, solar lit candles.Whatever helps them in their grief.
I walk with my dog through a cemetery every morning and sometimes evening too.
In the twilight the solar candles flicker softly and are really quite pretty .
One baby`s grave has toys, teddies made of flowers, all their heartache poured into these
things and who could be critical ?
I hope you can do what you would like to do , it does help doesn`t it. Viktoria.

Hello S305atee, and a warm welcome to RootsChat :)

If you could tell us which town/city/country the Southern Cemetery is located in, someone on here might know what the local custom is.  There's a lot of variation from place to place.

I assume that the o/p is referring to Southern Cemetery in Manchester which, I understand, is the largest cemetery in Europe.

The last time I passed the place the flower shops were still there but the part my own rellies are in was "lawned" many years ago so flowers left on graves are likely to be a problem for the maintenance workers keeping the place clean and tidy.
