CARNEY FAMILY
« on: Thursday 01 June 17 16:56 BST (UK) »
ROBERT CARNEY      (HUSBAND)
Date of Birth Approx 1809, Armagh
Occupation:  Tailor
Date of Death 6 Apr 1874
18 Amelia Street, Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland

ANN (NEE______) CARNEY  (WIFE)
Date of Birth Approx 1805, Armagh
Date of Death 14 May 1873
Old Lodge Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland
(Obituary states Ann was to be returned to Armagh for burial in family plot the day following her death)

ALFRED ERNEST CARNEY (SON)
Date of Birth Approx 1848, Armagh
Date of Death 20 Feb 1929
29 Old Compton Street, Westminster, London, England

I am looking for any additional information on the maternal side of my family, including Ann's maiden name.  I received a death certificate for Robert Carney but a GRONI search for Ann Carney was not successful.  I have a death certificate for my grandfather but no birth certificate.

Thank you!

Civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so there will be no birth certificate for Alfred.

I also searched for Ann's death without any luck.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I continue to look for Alfred Ernest Carney's birth/baptism in Armagh in and around 1848.

Can anyone tell me if the attached was transcribed incorrectly?  Could it be Kearney, Alfred?  This was the day my great grandfather could have been born and I've found his parents are Robert Kearney and Anne Hamilton.

I had a genealogist suggest this entry could have been my great uncle Alfred's (Alfred Kearney) Vuioney is such a different name (certainly not Irish).  I've found his father's name has been spelled  Kearney and Carney.

Thank you.

Here's the whole page for others to review.  I can't upload as the file is too big:
